The Home & Hill Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal, is advancing its digital administration through the adoption of e-Governance applications aimed at improving internal efficiency, transparency, and service delivery. These initiatives are implemented in coordination with the Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Government of West Bengal, the State e-Governance Mission Team (SeMT), and Webel Technology Limited (WTL) as the State Nodal Agency (SNA) and State Implementing Agency (SIA) for e-Governance initiatives in the State.
The Department has adopted the e-Office system for electronic file movement, digital noting and correspondence, record maintenance, and structured workflows across branches and sections, contributing to improved efficiency and reduced reliance on paper-based processes.
For financial administration, the Department utilises the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) portal for preparation and processing of bills, accounts, and related financial transactions. The Human Resource Management System (HRMS) under IFMS is used for management of employee-related data, service records, and personnel information.
As part of its digital transformation initiatives, the Department has established the Private Security Agencies Licensing Portal for online processing of licensing services under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005. The portal facilitates digital submission, verification, monitoring, and renewal of licences in a transparent and time-bound manner.
The Department has also implemented a Court Case Management System (CCMS) to enable systematic tracking, monitoring, and management of litigation matters, supporting timely compliance with court directions and improved coordination with legal stakeholders.
Collectively, these initiatives promote secure digital workflows, effective record management, and strengthened administrative coordination, supporting the broader objective of a digitally enabled, efficient, and accountable governance framework.
