The Co-ordination Branch under the Home & Hill Affairs Department performs inter-departmental and inter-institutional coordination functions and handles matters relating to Ministers, constitutional authorities, legislative business, and parliamentary coordination pertaining to the Department.
The Co-ordination Branch deals with matters relating to the West Bengal Rules of Business and coordinates issues requiring inter-departmental consultation. It processes entitlements of Hon’ble Ministers, including sitting and daily allowances, reimbursement of medical expenditure, and matters relating to foreign visits.
The Branch handles issues connected with Committees of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and Parliament, including replies to Parliamentary Questions pertaining to the Department. It is responsible for preparation and coordination of addresses of the Hon’ble Governor under Articles 175 and 176 of the Constitution of India.
The Branch also acts as the nodal authority for interaction with the Inter-State Council Secretariat and coordinates matters relating to meetings of the Eastern Zonal Council and its Standing Committee. In addition, it deals with matters relating to National Awards, the West Bengal State Election Commission, and study visits of Parliamentary Committees concerning the Department.
The Branch is headed by the Senior Special Secretary, followed by the Special Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Officer on Special Duty, Section Officer, Head Assistant, Upper Division Assistant, and Lower Division Assistant.
